Oh how I sympathise with Victoria Beckham, for someone who loves shoes like she does and always wanting to look perfect having her bunions pictured in fashion magazines won't do much good for her self esteem.

Whether it is genetic or because of the high heels she wore her feet are not a pretty site and I bet they are pretty painful as well.
Having just had a bunion removed from my left foot it is not something I would want to repeat in a hurry. The operation itself is ok it was the weeks in pain limping around that I was not prepared for. It was only as I was about to be wheeled down to surgery that the nursing sister said to me, 'You do realise that this is a very nasty operation that it will take a long time to heal.'
Well no I didn't know and by that time it was a bit late to change my mind. I wanted it removed because I love to go walking with my husband at the week-end and after 20 minutes or so of walking my bunion would begin to throb. There was also the added problem of buying shoes, it was becoming more and more difficult to get anything to fit.
Has it been worth it? Well my foot now looks much better and I can now walk 3 or 4 miles without any pain so I guess the answer is yes. Would I have the other foot done? Only if I was in extreme pain.
