How to look better while watching tv

  1. Mend your clothes – fix any hems that have come   undone, sew on any buttons that have come off.
  2. Yoga – when the adverts are on do a few yoga stretches to help tone your body.
  3. Pelvic floor exercises – most women forget to do this but it is easy to do either sitting or standing and will help prevent any problems later in life.
  4. Manicure – give your hands a treat and get out the nail polish and hand cream.
  5. Pedicure – get rid of the hard skin by having a foot bath then massage in some foot cream such as L’Occotaine foot cream which has a fabulous smell.
  6. Foot bath – soothe aches and soften rough skin by soaking your feet for 10 minutes. Add ½ a cup Of Epsom Salts which you can buy from any chemist to a large bowl of warm water. Add a slice of lemon or a few drops of your favourite essential oil to the water. For a massage while you soak add some marbles or small stones to the water and move your feet over them.
  7. Spring clean your make-up bag – empty everything out and put your bag aside to wash it or decide to treat yourself to a new one. Any make-up brushes should be washed regularly in a gentle shampoo and left to dry. Sharpen any eye or lip pencils. Have a good look at your make up and decide what to keep and what to throw out. For advice on how long to keep make-up check out my eBook ‘What Can I Wear?’
  8. Freshen up your handbag – if you struggle to find anything in your handbag then it is time to give it a good clear out. Only keep items that are essential in your bag not those that may come in handy one day. Once a month take a bacterial wipe to the outside of your bag, think how many times you have put it down on the floor.
  9. Remove facial hair – give yourself an instant face lift by plucking your eyebrows. Even if you have them professionally done there is often a stray hair. Check your top lip it is amazing how fast these hairs grow.
  10. Face mask – who can forget Robin Williams in Mrs Doubtfire, thankfully face masks today do not drip or give you a face you cannot move. Treat your skin to a moisturising mask once a week to revive dull skin.

It is all too easy to just sit in front of the television and be entertained. I am not suggesting you do all 10 tips in one evening but look after yourself. We rush around and often put ourselves at the bottom of a long list. Just spending ten minutes here and there on yourself will get those feel good hormones working. Remember, ‘You’re worth it’.
