Where do you find nice shoes these days?

I am going to a wedding next month have got the outfit and now need a pair of cream shoes or sandals that I can walk in without falling over.

I thought having my bunion removed would make shopping for shoes easier but everywhere I have looked the shoes are either too high and I am talking 4 inches or flat ballet pumps.

While I love the ease of buying on the internet the last time I bought shoes they were too small so I returned them and was told it would take at least 4 weeks to credit my account.  It actually took longer and I had to ring up to complain before I got my money back.  This does not make for happy shopping.

There used to be lots of independent shoe shops selling different makes of shoe but they all seem to be disappearing.  For years my local Debenhams stocked really nice shoes but now seem to be going in for off the peg and have them hanging up.

I now have 4 weeks to find a pair and am beginning to panic.  I do have an old pair that I have dyed to spruce them up but when you have spent a lot of money on an outfit the last thing you want to wear is a pair of old shoes.  Fingers crossed that I will find a pair on my next shopping trip.
