- Spring 2010
I love March, it is always so uplifting to see the spring flowers appearing and some colour come back into the garden. After the dull drab days of winter they are a welcome sight out of my kitchen window.
- February 2010
Have you noticed there is a lot of red around at the moment? Yes it is that time of year when you see lots of red and black in the shops, there is no getting away from Valentines day.
- January 2010
It is time to take control of your wardrobe. Decide that from now on everything you buy will be something that you feel good in and love to wear.
- November 09
Have you finished your Christmas shopping? Are you super organised and have all your shopping done before Halloween? Yes, there are some women out there who actually do this.
- October 09
Doesn't life seem so much better when the sun shines. After a rather poor summer September turned out to be glorious and it was a joy to be out and about in the countryside.
- August 09
I should never have mentioned in my last newsletter that I was getting the wear out of my summer clothes. What a difference a month makes. The most used item in my wardrobe has been my umbrella.
- July 09
This summer is shaping up to be one where I may actually get the wear out of my summer clothes. Because the past few summers have not been very good weather wise most of my summer clothes have hardly been worn and therefore are like new. But because I have seen them every time I open my wardrobe door they feel old. So how to update them without spending too much money?
- June 09
You never know what to expect when it comes to the weather. One week-end the temperature is 26 degrees the next it is 14 degrees, planning what to wear is a nightmare especially if you go away for a week-end.
- May 09
Bluebell time. I look forward to it every year. I am lucky to live near two bluebell woods and I try and go for a walk a few times a week so I can soak up their beauty. As soon as I see the blue in the distance my spirits rise. Colour has that effect on us, it can lift our mood or drag us down.
- April 09
Have you done any spring cleaning yet? The rooms in my house always look brighter come the spring but this also means I can see all those dirty marks that I have not noticed over the winter. It is time to get the paintbrush out and spruce up my kitchen.
- March 09
At last spring is here, I even have a few daffodils out in the garden. Oh what a joy to look out of the kithchen window to see some colour in the garden, it really does lift your spirits.
- February Newsletter
Just when I thought it was safe to think of Spring and start looking to update my wardrobe with some of the nice bright colours that are now in the shops it is back to wearing my winter woollies.
- January Newsletter
I hope you have had a lovely Christmas and received lots of nice presents. Once I take the decorations down the house always looks so bare and I usually decide that one room or other needs a bit of sprucing up. The same can be said of me. I always think January is a good month to take stock of my life and think about ways of improving it. There is a whole year ahead what can I do in that year that will enhance my life.
- December Newsletter
At this time of year shopping can become frantic and you can start to panic buy as Christmas gets closer. On top of this you have stores having sudden sales so what you bought the week before is now 25% cheaper. What is a girl to do?
- November Newsletter
Who would have thought it, snow in October, the last time it snowed at this time of year was back in 1964. When the temperature plummets it is time to get out your warmest jacket. Unfortunaterly most jackets are just not warm enough for freezing temperatures and a biting wind and while ski jackets look great on the ski slopes and for week-end wear you probably don't want to wear them to work. So how do you keep warm and still look fashionable?
- October Newsletter
At last we are having bright sunny days but the temperature in the early morning is now decidedly chilly. It is time to put away your summer wardrobe and look out your winter clothes.
- September Newsletter
I love trousers and jeans and most of the year that is what I wear but come the summer with the aid of some fake tan I love bearing my legs and donning a skirt, but not this summer. My skirts have hung unworn in my wardrobe waiting for a warm sunny day. I did manage to wear my long shorts a few times but it has been the year of wearing layers as one minute it was too cold the next too warm.
- August Newsletter
It may be summer but it certainly doesn't feel like it. Knowing what to wear can be real problem as the temperature can vary so much during the day and you never know when the heavens are going to open. My advice is to wear layers and wear your brighter summer colours.
